She and her fraternal twin sister Jenna are the daughters of the 43rd U.S. President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush. She is also a granddaughter of former President George H. W. Bush and his wife, Barbara Bush, after whom she is named.

Global Health Corps provides opportunities for young professionals from diverse backgrounds to work on the front lines of the fight for global health equity In 2009, Global Health Corps won a Draper Richards Foundation Fellowship.
