Illness | Stiff-person Syndrome
In 2022,Celine announced that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome.It is an autoimmune neurological disorder that causes spasms that affect vocal cord and mobility. She underwent treatment and cancelled most of her 2023 tours.
“Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to, “Celine said in a video she posted on Instagram.
Weight Loss
In the recent past Celine lost a lot of weight and her fans started questioning whether she is okey.
In an interview with People Magazine she said, “People say, ‘She’s a lot thinner,’ but I’m working hard. I like to move and (weight loss) comes with it.” She goes for ballet four times a week.She said she also maintains a healthy diet and all that have helped her maintain her body shape.
Also in 2007 Celine stood up for other people with similar body type\shape(slim).She said,“It pisses people off that I am thin and I don’t make any effort. I have been thin all my life. Nobody in my family is overweight.”
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Celine is the spokeswoman of the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.She took this position in memory of her niece who died of the disease.
