Chloe Webb is an actress from the United States. She is famous for her roles in films Sid and Nancy (1986), The Belly of an Architect (1987), Twins (1988), and Heart Condition (1990).

She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for her portrayal of the role of Laurette Barber in the ABC drama series China Beach. Additionally, she had a recurring role as Monica Gallagher on the Showtime comedy-drama TV series, Shameless.

In April of 1982, she joined Forbidden Broadway. The group is an Off-Broadway revue parodying musical theatre, particularly Broadway musicals. Four years later, she made her film debut in Alex Cox’s 1986 British biopic film, Sid & Nancy. In the film, she played the infamous, heroin-addicted Nancy Spungen, girlfriend of punk rock singer and Sex Pistols bassist, Sid Vicious. Her performance in Sid and Nancy won her best actress awards from the National Society of Film Critics, the Boston Film Critics and the San Francisco Film Critics. She played the role of Brian Dennehy’s estranged socialite girlfriend in Peter Greenaway’s 1987 drama film, The Belly of an Architect. She had the recurring role of a young woman from Paoli, Pennsylvania with dreams to become a successful singer in ABC’s drama TV series China Beach. She appeared in seven episodes of the TV series. She played the role of Danny DeVito’s eccentric girlfriend in Ivan Reitman’s 1988 buddy comedy film, Twins. She had a cameo as a woman convinced that she had been abducted by aliens in the 1989 film, Ghostbusters II.

She frequently appeared in a number of Los Angeles based stage productions: The House of Blue Leaves, for which she won a Drama-Logue Award, and The Model Apartment. Her spectacular performance in the latter earned her a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award and another Drama-Logue Award.

She co-starred alongside Denzel Washington and Bob Hoskins in the 1990 American fantasy-comedy film, Heart Condition. She played the role of a hairdresser in the 1991 comedy film, Queens Logic. That very year, she played the role of a woman with a developmental disability who wins the lottery but her fortune leads to tension between her mother and sister in ABC’s made-for-TV film, Lucky Day. This was followed by the role of an Australian Red Cross worker in the 1993 drama film, Silent Cries. She portrayed Debra Winger’s character’s colleague in Stephen Gyllenhaal’s 1993 American romance drama film, A Dangerous Woman. She played the role of the eccentric Mona Ramsey in Armistead Maupin miniseries Tales of the City in 1993. Her other roles in this decade include Annette Bening’s friend in the 1994 American romantic drama film, Love Affair, Robin Wright’s character’s friend in the 1997 romantic drama film, She’s So Lovely, and Sandra Bullock’s friend Carla in the 1998 romantic comedy film, Practical Magic.

She went on to assume guest spots in several TV series: CBS’s Judging Amy in 2003, FOX’s House in 2005, CBS’s Two and a Half Men in 2005, NBC’s Medium in 2005, and CBS’s CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in 2008. In 2009, she played the role of Sister Duncan in the comedy film, Repo Chick.

Her most recent role was that of Monica Gallagher in Showtime’s comedy-drama TV series, Shameless. She plays William H. Macy’s character’s estranged and unstable wife. Her performance in the TV series earned her a nomination for Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Guest Performer in a Drama Series.

Sid and Nancy, also known as Sid and Nancy: Love Kills, is a 1986 British biopic film. The film was directed by Alex Cox and co-written with Abbe Wool. The film is based on the life of Sid Vicious, played by Gary Oldman, bassist of the seminal punk rock band the Sex Pistols, and his relationship with girlfriend Nancy Spungen played by Chloe Webb. Additionally, the film also features supporting performances from David Hayman, Xander Berkeley, and Courtney Love.

The film was premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 1986. It was released theatrically in the United States in the fall of ’86. The film was generally received positively by most critics. The film has since attained cult classic status.
