Elton John Family
Elton met with his husband David Furnish in 1993. The two had a civil partnership in 2005 and a wedding ceremony on 21 December 2014 after same-sex marriage was legalized in the United Kingdom. They have been together for almost 30 years.
Journey to fatherhood
David and Elton are proud fathers to two boys: Zachary 12 and Elijah who is almost 10 in a few days. Zachary was born on December 25 2010 whereas Elijah was born on January 11, 2013.
Lady Gaga is the son’s godmother and was chosen by John because she once bathed Zachary when he was one in Las Vegas before going on stage. Both Zachary and Elijah were born to the couple by the same surrogate mother.

Marriage with Renata Baulel
In 1984, the singer married German recording engineer Renata Baulel and their marriage ended in 1988. Renata attempted suicide during their honeymoon after John told her that he wanted to end their relationship.
