Fall Out Boy Career
The band was formed in 2001 by friends Pet Wentz and Joe Trohman formed with name Wentz. It managed to land the covers of Maximumrocknroll and Heartattack before releasing their own music. Trohman met Patrick Stump then drummer for a grindcore band. Stump wanted to try out as a drummer but Wentz opted him to take out his acoustic guitar and he impressed the duo with his songs. Wentz wanted Andy Hurley as a drummer he was too busy and uninterested. The band first performed publicly at a cafeteria in Depaul University. Later came up with name Fall Out Boy after Stump and Wentz arguing and finally coming up with a name.
Their first cassette demo was recorded at Rose basement and later went to record a proper demo . Several members passed through the group as they searched for the perfect drummer.
When the band set off to Smart Studios to record songs the engineer Sean O`Keefe suggested the band record with Hurley which finally they had found their perfect drummer.
They invited Hurley to fill in and later it was official he was going to be their drummer. The band went on tour on which most of their shows were canceled.
The band’s debut album was done by Ramen in May 2003 Take This To Your Grave.
In 2005 the band suffered a major set back as Wentz decided a suicide attempt after swallowing a handful of anxiety pills.
