He has been nominated for an academy award. Alan has had memorable appearances in films like: Of Mice and Men, Forrest Gump, Truman, Ransom.

He started becoming well known after directing and starring in True West, a Steppenwolf’s production in 1982. Sinise earned an Obie award for this direction.
He was then portrayed in PBS’ with John Malkovich a year later. Gary directed Miles From Home in 1988. He has acted in Forrest Gump, Appolo 13, The Green Mile, Of Mice and Men, Reindeer Games, Snake Eyes, Ransom, Mission to Mars, The Stand and Impostor.
He has also made appearances in the television series CSI New York. Sinise has hosted Epcot Ride Mission: SPACE at Disney World, Orlando, Florida.
He has modelled for Baume and Mercier watches. He co-founded Operation Iraqi Children. Gary has narrated: When We Left Earth in 2008 on the Discovery channel, Army Strong recruitment ads in 2008.
He was the spokesman for the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial.Along with David Scantling, he produced the Iraq war documentary, Brothers at War.
