Holly Sonders is an American sports journalist and golfer. She is a broadcaster for Fox channel and is the host for United States Golf Association (USGA).

Prior to joining FOX, Sonder was a co-host for the ABC series Splash.In 2019 she quit FOX TV and ventured into ‘hollysonders.com’.It’s on this website that she posts exclusive content that is ‘too hot to handle on social media’.

It was on 3rd March 1987 that Sonders was born as Holly Niederkohr, although she is now known as Holly Sonders. It is a name that she adopted for stage purposes.

While there is not much that is known about her personal life and how she was brought up, it is known that she was raised by her parents, Dan Niederkohr and Sandy Niederkohr.

One thing that is very interesting is that while her father is an optometrist, her mother is a golfer who remained a club champion for 22 years, and that may be one of the things that have come around to influence Holly’s love for the game.

This is further enhanced by the fact that she was put through in the sports when she was just six.

Sonders was born Holly Niederkohr on March 3, 1987, in Marysville, Ohio, USA, to Dan(father) and Sandy Niederkohr(mother). She has a brother and she does not have any sister.

She started playing golf at a young age. In high school, she earned all-league and all-district honors for four years and was named league and district MVP.

Apart from golf, Sonders also played baseball and basketball in her high school.She majored in journalism at Michigan State University, where she won many titles and honors.

Sonders entered her senior year with a 78.47 career stroke average and is the most experienced athlete at the university with a total of 77 collegiate rounds played.

 Professional Career

Sonders changed her name from Holly Niederkohr to Holly Sonders during her professional career. While playing collegiate golf, Sonders suffered a knee injury for which she underwent surgery.

Unable to play like she used to, her major in journalism helped to transition from actively playing golf to broadcasting.She wanted to join the Golf Channel after college but was told that she needed more TV experience.

So, Sonders went to Little Rock and worked as a news broadcaster for a year before landing an interview and eventually a job at the Golf Channel in 2011.At the Golf Channel, she rose to fame with the shows like Morning Drive, School of Golf, and Playing Lessons with the Pros.

She was also featured on the cover of the online portal Golf Digest in 2013.Sonders left the Golf Channel for Fox when the network just in time to cover the U.S. Open in 2015, after being hired in July 2014.

She served as FOX Sports’ studio host during the 2016 U.S. Open.Sonders has appeared in GOLF.com’s Most Beautiful Women in Golf three times.

A former golfer, she made her debut as an NFL sideline reporter at the end of 2015.

Just after Kliff being hired as the coach of NFL team Arizona Cardinals, Holly shared a video of introduction from the Cardinals to congratulate him.
