Jeremy Jordan Biography

Jeremy Jordan (Jeremy Michael Jordan) is an American actor and singer born on 20th November 1984 in Corpus Christi, Texas, U.S. He is best known for his lead role as Jack Kelly in Newsies which earned him a nomination in Tony Award for best performance.

Jeremy began acting and singing at an early age, while in high school he was a member of the high school choir and also acted in school plays. In 2008 he was cast in a theater play at Hartford theater works in the play Little Dog Laughed as Alex.

His performance earned him a nomination for the Connecticut critics circle. In the same year, he also played the character of Tom Sawyer in Big River.

He rose to fame in 2010 when he starred as Clyde in the musical Bonnie and Clyde. The show made its Broadway debut on December 1, 2011, and closed on December 30, 2011, after 36 performances.

Jeremy married his wife Ashley Spencer on 8th September 2012 in a private wedding attended by close family members and friends. Ashley Spencer is an American actress and dancer.

She made her television debut on NBC’s Grease: You’re The Only One That I Want and also made her Broadway debut in Hairspray as Amber Von Tussle in July 2007.

Jeremy attended Mary Carroll high school, he later joined Ithaca College in New York graduating in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art in musical theater.

Newsies

In 2012 he played the lead role in Disney’s Newsies on Broadway as Jack Kelly. His performance earned him a nomination in Tony Award for best performance by a leading actor in a musical and also a Grammy Award nomination in 2013 for best musical theater album as a principal soloist on the Newsies original cast album.

Jeremy Jordan Supergirl/ Winn Schott

Jeremy played the role of Winn Schott in the superhero drama show Supergirl. He was a regular visitor on the series since its debut  during the season 3 finale, he was sent on a time traveling trip to save the future.

Jordan took to Instagram to explain that although he won’t be a regular on the series he will come back at one time.

Jeremy Jordan Waitress

Jeremy Jordan is set to return to the music stage on 8th April 2019 playing the role of r. Po matter in Broadway’s Waitress. He will replace Joey McIntyre as the new-to-town OBGYN.

The news was announced on social media on the Waitress Musical platform with a brief clip of Jordan, unnamed, singing the show’s ballad “She Used to Be Mine” with his signature timbre and runs.

Jeremy Jordan 54 Below

Jeremy will play Feinstein’s/54 Below this summer, with nightly engagements running July 22–August 3. (He will not perform July 29.) He will debut a brand-new show created with music director Benjamin Rauhala. The tickets, priced $70–$140, go on sale to the general public March 21 at noon.

Jeremy Jordan Gay

Jeremy isn’t gay he is married to a woman, Ashley Spencer. In June 2016 he took to his Facebook and Twitter where he talked about his cousin named Sarah who was sent to a remote Christian Boarding Facility in Texas to “pray away her being gay” for one year.

Jeremy saw it was inappropriate and set up a GoFundMe page to create awareness and raise funds for freeing her from the remote gay correctional facility.

His outcry was heard and embraced by gay celebrities and gay rights advocate members of the public and 5 days later his cousin came home from the facility.
