Jim Caviezel Age | Early Life

Jim was born on the 26th of September 1968 in Mount Vernon, the county seat of the Skagit County of Washington in the United States. Despite this, he was raised in Conway, Washington in a strict Catholic family. He attended the Mount Vernon High School and studied there for about 2 years. After this, his family moved to Seattle and he was transferred to the O’Dea High School, an all-boys high school in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood.

At the school, he played basketball. About a year later, he transferred to the John F. Kennedy Memorial High School located in Burien, a suburban city in the King County of Washington. He continued his basketball in the school until his graduation in 1987. Over the time he was playing basketball, he developed a liking to the sport and aspired to be a professional NBA player in his future. He attended the Bellevue College after his application to the U.S. Naval Academy was denied three times.

In college, he still played basketball. However, in his second year, he succumbed to a foot injury. This laid to waste his aspirations to play professional basketball in the NBA. He then transferred to the University of Washington and started focusing on acting instead. After a while, he became a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. As of 2018, he is 50 years old.

Early Career

He started acting way back around 1991 when he earned his Screen Actors Guild Award for playing a minor role in the film, “My Own Private Idaho”. Before this, he had played some roles as a play actor based in Seattle. He then moved to Los Angeles in search of more acting jobs. He turned down a Scholarship to study at the Juilliard School in New York in order to take on the role of Warren Earp in the 1994 film of the same name. After this, he played in many other roles. As the filming was ongoing, he was struck by lightning, accidentally scourged, had his shoulder dislocated, and succumbed to pneumonia and hypothermia. After The Passion of Christ, he has still been performing in several films and TV series. Since then, he has appeared in such films as The Prisoner (remake), When The Gane Stands Tall, Escape Plan, Paul, Apostle Of Christ, Unknown, Deja Vu, and many more. Jim Caviezel Testimony

He admitted that there was nothing glamorous about his role as Jesus in the film ‘The Passion Of Christ’ by Mel Gibson. An accidental scourge gave him a 14-inch gash on his back. His walk to Golgotha was emotionally challenging for him. After the scene, he was accidentally struck by lightning, had a dislocated shoulder and suffered from Pneumonia and Hypothermia.

He then claims that he felt an evil presence come over him, telling him that he would die. At that moment, according to him, he felt that his death would turn a lot of people to God. He claims then to have had no worries over dying as it would also take him to Heaven. After completing filming, he had to endure two heart surgeries including open heart surgery in order to fully recover from the impact.
