The giant accounting firm Ernst & Young (EY) has announced Julie Boland as the new Global Chair and CEO of “AssureCo”, following the separation process that will see EY split into two organizations, that has been in progress since 2022.

Julie Boland is 57 years old American and a native of the city of Cleveland, Ohio, United States. She is currently the elected US Chair and Managing Partner of Ernst & Young Americas a position she has held since July 2022.
Recently, Ms. Boland is among the 2022 Fortune Most Powerful Women in Business across the globe.
Education
Ms. Boland holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Vermont and a Master’s in Business administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
She is also a Certified Public Accountant with more than 30 years of experience and a graduate of the Leadership Cleveland Class of 2006.
Career
Ms. Boland started her career as a Certified Public Accountant at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) professional services from 1988 to 1991.
She then became the vice president of J.P. Morgan & Co and worked in New York City, Chicago, and London from 1994 to 1997. She left J.P. Morgan & Co in 1997 and started to work with Goldman Sachs as the vice president from 1997 to 2000 in London, United Kingdom.
In 2002, she worked as the chief financial officer and treasurer of the Cleveland supplier of aggregates and mineral materials, at Oglebay Norton Company, where she served for six years.
Julie also worked with Flight Options as the chief financial officer from 2008 to 2009, at Cleveland.
In 2010 to 2014, she become a partner with EY and moved up the rank to become the office managing partner of the organization between 2014 to 2018.
She then became the vice chair of the US Central region managing partner of EY from 2018 to 2022.
In July 2022, she started to work as the organization US Chair and Managing Partner and Americas Managing Partner.
Other activities
Ms. Boland is serving as a member of the Global 50, Fortune Most Powerful Women, and the committee of 200.
She is also a board member of the board member for Catalyst, the United Way Philanthropist Society, and The 50 Club of Cleveland.
Awards
In 2022, Julie was named one of the 2022 Fortune Most Powerful Women in Business across the globe. She has also been honored as YWCA Woman of Achievement, in Crain’s 40 Under 40 and as the 2018 Mayo Person of the Year by the Mayo Society of Greater Cleveland.
Family
Julie is a wife to John and a mother of four children.
