For as long she has always been into what would be classified as ‘girly’ things. She played and dress up with her sister Jackie, loved Barbies, and occasionally they raid their mom’s makeup kits together.
Model Juliet Evancho parents noticed that she had zero interest in the typical “boy” toys and activities and began to question things.
She even got upset once in Christmas when Jackie got a Barbie dollhouse and she got a remote-controlled truck. she talked to her mom about her feelings. she told her that she doesn’t think she’s gay — there’s more to it than that, “I feel like I really am a girl.” she said.
At the time, she had never heard of the word “transgender.” Her mom pointed out the term and she began researching it.
This led to a conversation with a doctor, as they wondered if this was normal behavior. Model Juliet Evancho and Her parents discussed it with her doctor. The doctor said that she will probably grow out of it.”
After this non-diagnosis, the family continued on with their lives, and Juliet continued to suppress those feelings. she played little league baseball and joined cub scouts, but deep down she knew she wasn’t just experimenting or exploring her feminine side.
By the time she was 11, she took those internal thoughts and verbalized them to herself as she looked in the mirror. she said, “I am a girl trapped in a boy’s body.”
