Alexander started her acting profession in the late 1980s. She made her TV debut on the 1985 sketch-parody show FTV.

Since the mid-1990s, Alexander has focused on film and TV, assuming supporting jobs in a few motion pictures, including CB4, Joshua Tree, What’s Love Got to Do with It, Poetic Justice, and Sugar Hill.

In 1995, Alexander was given a role as Catherine Duke on the NBC parody arrangement News Radio. She remained with the show until season 4 scene 7, “Catherine Moves On”.

Additionally, she showed up as Catherine in the season 5 debut scene, “Bill Moves On”. She played the repetitive character of Jackie Robbins in therapeutic show arrangement ER.
