Interview with Madisyn Shipman
Glitter recently sat down with Madsiyn Shipman to talk about the new season of Nickelodeon’s Game Shakers, where she plays Kenzie Bell, a smart girl who loves to code.
We also spoke with her about her love for musical instruments, including her favorite, the guitar, what charities she supports, what a typical day looks like for Madisyn, and her pet hedgehog (so adorable).
We also asked Madisyn what is one thing her fans might not know about her, and her answer might shock you. Read on to find out more about this talented actress.

GLITTER: How old were you when you first started acting?
MADISYN: I was six-years-old when I started acting. Even when I was little I had a love for performing. When I was three-years-old, I would put on shows at home and at daycare.
I always told my mom that I was going to be on TV. When I was about five-years-old we were introduced to a local talent agency that suggested we look into the NYC market. We moved there when I was six-years-old and I booked my first Broadway show at seven-years-old.
GLITTER: What can you tell us about the Nickelodeon series, Game Shakers? Who do you play?
MADISYN: I play Kenzie Bell.
Kenzie is the smart girl who loves to code. She’s the brains behind the operation. I personally feel that Kenzie and I are pretty similar. She’s a little bit of a nerd, but hey so am I! Embrace your inter-dork side!!
GLITTER: What can you tell us about season 2 without giving anything away?
MADISYN: Season 2 of Game Shakers is full of new adventures. We are starting to show different layers of our characters, along with regular middle school drama. Stay tuned, you don’t want to miss out on the fun!
GLITTER: Tell us about your upcoming movie, Ordinary World. Who do you play? What is the movie about?
MADISYN: I play Salome. She is a normal girl who loves playing her guitar and is family oriented. The movie was release October 14, so plan to go see it! And you may even see me singing and playing guitar in the movie.
Ordinary World is about the struggle that Perry (Billie Joe), a former punk rocker encounters. His band has been on a ten year hiatus and he is kinda experiencing a mid-life crisis.
He believes his wife (Selma) and his daughter (moi!) forgot his birthday. He decides to throw himself a pity party at a fancy NYC hotel and bumps into an old crush while there.
I don’t wanna spoil the everything for you guys though.
GLITTER: What does a typical day look like for you?
MADISYN: Currently, we are filming Season 2 of Game Shakers. We generally get to the studio around 9 am to begin school and/or rehearsals or filming.
After we wrap, our cast and the Henry Danger cast usually hangout in Club Soda. Club Soda is our lounging room with games and stuff.
GLITTER: Do you play any instruments?
MADISYN: I do. I play guitar, ukulele, keyboard and a dab of the bass. Guitar is my first love.
GLITTER: Is there anything your fans might not know about you?
MADISYN: I terrified of heights!! No joke!! You won’t catch me cliff-jumping any time soon!!!
GLITTER: Is it true that you have a hedgehog? Are they hard to take care of?
MADISYN: I do have a hedgehog named Sonic! We’ve had him for about a year. They are actually nocturnal, they sleep a lot throughout the day and play all night! They’re really easy to take care of and surprisingly quiet cuddly.
GLITTER: What charities do you support?
MADISYN: I’m involved with The Neimann-Pick Foundation. My cousin died from the disease when she was only 2 years old. Her death left a huge impact on our family.
I’m also hoping to become involved with Intl Justice Mission to fight against human trafficking.
GLITTER: What do you enjoy doing on your free time?
MADISYN: I love playing guitar, singing and hanging out with my family and friends during my free time.
GLITTER: What is your definition of self-love?
MADISYN: To me, self-love is embracing all of your imperfections. Your flaws make you, you. You have to love yourself because no amount of love from others with satisfy your soul until you love yourself.
Self-love, self-respect and self-worth all go hand in hand. You can not find them in anyone else.
GLITTER: Do you have any upcoming projects you can tell us about?
MADISYN: Currently, we are working on some new episodes of Game Shakers for all of you! So, be sure to tune in on Saturday nights at 8:30 pm on Nickelodeon.
