After losing their mother to a supernatural force, the brothers were raised by their father as soldiers who track mysterious and demonic creatures.

Violent memories and relationship-threatening secrets add additional burdens on Sam and Dean as they investigate all things that go bump in the night.

As old tricks and tools are rendered useless and friends betray them, the brothers must rely on each other as they encounter new enemies.

In March 2019 it was announced that Matt was leaving General Hospital after playing neurosurgeon Dr. Griffin Munro for three years. Matt said he was leaving the show to pursue directing projects.

“I did three years at the show. It was a great time and I had great fun playing the character, but I’m a guy who gets uncomfortable when he gets comfortable. I need to give Griffin a little rest right now.”

He, however, said his exit was open-ended and he might return one day.

“We’re leaving it very open-ended. There is no greater compliment to be paid to an actor than to have the possibility of a return. The fact that Frank [Valentini, the executive producer] and everybody over there at the network would even consider allowing that is a great thing.”
