Matthew Langford Perry was an American Canadian actor mainly known for his role as Chandler Bing in the sitcom “Friends.” His acting career started when he was a young child on the cop show episode “240 Robert.”

Perry was raised in Ottawa, Ontario, where he became a top-ranked junior tennis player in Canada. However, after moving to Los Angeles at the age of 15 to live with his father, he became more interested in acting.
In addition to performing in several high school stage productions, he remained an avid tennis player. Perry ranked 17th nationally in the junior singles category and third in the doubles category.
Upon graduating from high school, Perry intended to enroll at the University of Southern California. However, when he was offered a leading role on the television series, Boys Will Be Boys (1987), he seized the opportunity to begin his acting career.
Perry appeared in the hit comedy film The Whole Nine Yards (2000), as the neighbor of a hit man, played by Bruce Willis. He was also on 17 Again, in the 2009.
His other feature film credits included Fools Rush In (1997), A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon (1988), She’s Out of Control (1989) and Parallel Lives (1994).
He also co-starred with Chris Farley in the buddy comedy Almost Heroes (1998) and in the romantic comedy, Three to Tango (1999), opposite Neve Campbell. Perry resides in Los Angeles. He enjoys playing ice hockey and softball in his spare time.

Matthew shared about his addiction to drugs and alcohol in his 2022 memoir. He that he started taking alcohol at the age of 14 years. Moreover he shared that he had been to to rehab 15 times and had undergone 14 surgeries related to his addiction.
Perry said that there was a time his colon burst and he went to surgery. The doctors told his family that he had a 2 percent survival chance.
Luckily Perry was able to overcome his addiction and by June 2022 he said that he was motivated to help people struggling with addiction to overcome the condition.

Unfortunately on October 28, 2023 Perry was found unconscious in a jacuzzi at his home in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles police department were at a the declared that he was dead. Additionally they said that the cause of his death would be investigated.
