Melody Thomas Scott is an American actress. She is best known for playing Nikki Newman on the soap opera The Young and the Restless.

Melody has guest-starred in a number of TV shows, such as ‘Wagon Train’, ‘Ironside’, ‘Code R’, ‘Charlie’s Angels’, ‘Makin’ It’, ‘The King of Queens’ and ‘The Crazy Ones’.

She has acted in several big screen movies including ‘Marnie’, ‘The Beguiled’, ‘Posse’, ‘The Shootist’, ‘The Car’, ‘The Fury’ and ‘Piranha’.

She has contributed to a number of television movies as well.  Melody has received the ‘Best Actress’ award at the 8th Telegatto Awards function for ‘The Young and the Restless.’

Her performance in the series also fetched her the ‘Outstanding Actress’ award at the 17th Soap Opera Digest Awards event.

Talking of her personal life, the American beauty is a mother of three daughters. Currently, she lives with her children and third husband in Beverly Hills, California.

Melody was born in Los Angeles, California, USA. She was raised by her grandmother.  Melody went to the University of Southern California and majored in music.

Melody’s first film credit was in 1964 in Alfred Hitchcock movie Marnie as a child actress. After parts in television and movies in the mid-1970s (most notably in John Wayne’s final film, The Shootist in 1976).

Secondly, she was offered parts on nighttime series such as, The Rockford Files, Charlie’s Angels, and a recurring role on The Waltons.

Moreover, At the age of 23 in 1979, Melody left The Waltons to take over the role of Nikki Reed, a poor girl from the wrong side of the tracks, on the daytime serial The Young and the Restless, choosing the part over a sitcom pilot that in the end was not picked up.

Third, Melody acted as a replacement for the previous Nikki, who had lasted six months. Over time, melody’s character reformed and became an important part of Genoa City society, as she married Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Melody has stated, “It’s a miracle for an actor to have a job last 35 years. I am so blessed.”

Lastly, in June 1985 she was a celebrity guest on The $25,000 Pyramid for a week.

In addition, the Young and the Restless featured a stand alone episode to honor Scott’s 40 year history with the serial on February 19, 2019 .

Furthermore, the couple got married in 1985 and have three daughters, Jennifer (his daughter from a previous marriage , Alexandra Danielle Yeaggy (father is the late Carlos Yeaggy, a makeup man Melody met on the set of Y&R. and Elizabeth.

In addition, Melody resides with her family in Beverly Hills, California. On May 25, 2011 Jennifer gave birth to twins , a boy named James and a girl named Charlotte.

Moreover, the twins are Melody and Edward’s first and second grandchild, respectively.

Lastly, Melody was asked to be one of the original board members of the Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Center in Jamestown, New York in 2002.
