While working at WeatherNation, she chose to further her education by enrolling at American Military University.

She pursued a degree in Public Administration with a special emphasis on Emergency Management. Moreover, she is also a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist and a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS).

Cryan stayed at WeatherNation for another year after finishing her master’s degree in 2017 before deciding to go to PHL17. It serves the Philadelphia and Delaware Valley area.

She stated that one of the reasons she chose to relocate to the station was because she had attended schools in the area, including Penn State University.
