Rob Dyrdek Biography
Rob Dyrdek (Robert Stanley Dyrdek) is an American entrepreneur, actor, producer and former professional skateboarder. He is popular for his roles in the reality shows Rob & Big, Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory and Ridiculousness. He is the creator of the animated series Wild Grinders and also voices Lil Rob, the series main character.
Dyrdek set twenty-one separate Guinness World Records for skateboarding as part of his former show Rob & Big.
He also set the record for the largest skateboard as part of the Fantasy Factory series. ((according to the Guinness World Records website, it is listed as the “Longest Skateboard in the World”), but, according to the “World Records Academy” website, this was broken in 2010.

Rob Dyrdek Sister
Dyrdek has one sister, Denise Dyrdek. He performed his sister’s wedding in December 2011, after he became ordained through the Universal Life Church. The wedding took place at the Fantasy Factory in Los Angeles and was featured on in an episode of Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory.

Rob Dyrdek Skateboard | Skating
Dyrdek was involved in sports at a young age and at the age of 11 he was gifted his skateboard by Neil Blender, a pro-skateboarder, this arouse his interest in skateboarding.
At the age of 12 he got his sponsorship from the same company that sponsored Blender. This marked the beginning of his professional skateboarding. Dyrdek and Blender quit their board sponsor a few years later and created Alien Workshop.
At the age of 16 Dyedek moved to Southern California, forgoing his senior year of high school, to continue with professional skating.
Street League Skateboarding (SLS)
Dyrdek founded the Street League Skateboarding (SLS), a skateboard competition enterprise which has grown from a domestic to international event.
The league offered the highest overall purse in the history of the sport, at $1.6 million for its championship event broadcast on ESPN in 198 countries.
The league also partner with the Boys and Girls Club of America to develop new skate parks in California. It was also the focus of Dyrdek’s documentary film The Motivation, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Rob Dyrdek Fantasy Factory
Rob Dyrdek debuted his reality show ‘ Fantasy Factory’ in February 2009. The show featured Dyrdek, Pfaff, and his Dyrdek Enterprise staff.
It covered Dyrdek’s converted warehouse ‘Fantasy Factory, where Dyrdek runs his businesses. He built a music studio for his cousin Pfaff inside the factory.
In the course of the first season he opened his first SafeSpot SkateSpot. At the grand-opening, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa rode with Dyrdek on the world’s largest skateboard.
The show mainly featured a cast of Dyrdek, Chris Pfaff, Boykin, Scott Pfaff, Chanel West Coast, and Sterling Brim.
The episodes included one where Dyrdek was bitten by a shark, and being attacked by a trained tiger. Other stunts that Dyrdek filmed included performing the first kick flip with an automobile, filmed as a part of a television advertisement for Chevrolet.
As a part of the show, Dyrdek also co-invented the first “skateboard car”, and exhibited the Mustang built vehicle on an episode of the series.
The show ran for seven seasons with the final season airing on 13th March 2014.

Rob hosts Amazingness alongside panelist Chris “Drama” Pfaff, Eddie Huang and Krystal Bee on MTV. In the show Rob introduces talented young people who have eclectic and diverse mix of amateur and viral talent, who compete to earn the top spot.
The first act goes to the Top Spot, but every following performer has the opportunity to dethrone them.
After every performance Dyrdek and the judges decide who stays on top and who gets dropped. The winner walks away with $10,000 dollars in cash.
Rob Dyrdek Movie
In 2009 Rob appeared in the movie ‘Street Dreams’ as one of the characters. The idea of the movie was developed by Rob and Nino Scalia.
In response their belief that modern films focused on skateboarding were not realistic enough.While pitching the script Dyrdek decided to fund the film with his own money.
Ridiculousness
Dyrdek started a show with the MTV network, Ridiculousness, on 29th August 2011. Dyrdek hosts the show alongside two friends, Chanel West Coast and Sterling Brim.
In the show Dyrdek comments on internet videos that are mainly mishaps.
Rob Dyrdek Foundation | Skate Park
In 2003 Dyrdek founded Rob Dyrdek Foundation which has merged with the SLS Foundation. The foundation builds legal skate parks for skateboarders in their communities.
Dyrdek took the initiative because street skating is illegal in most communities and most of these communities often do not have legal skate parks available.

Rob Dyrdek Entrepreneur
Over the years, Dyrdek has recognized that his passion in life is building businesses. “Even calling the business side of what I execute a job is incredibly difficult.
Because I really look at what I do as an artist and someone that’s passionate about, since an early age, treating myself as a brand,” he says.
From building his own professional skateboarding brand to creating and growing Orion Trucks to working with MTV, Dyrdek’s life work has been giving life to new business enterprises.
Regarding structure, Super Jacket Productions is housed within the Dyrdek Machine, the holding company for all of his ventures.
Calling it a “venture studio,” Dyrdek Machine is like a cross between a branding agency and venture capital firm, officially launching in 2017 with six new brands in its first year.

The studio also houses one of Dyrdek’s other core, long-running brands, Street League Skateboarding. In 2010, Dyrdek tapped on the shoulders of his network of pro skater friends and founded SLS as the world’s first professional skateboarding league.
The league also has a spinoff subscription video network called ETN, made “by skateboarders for skateboarders.”
“[For ETN], we actually just closed a $10 million Series B round. It’s sort of the forefront of competitive skateboarding worldwide.
All of the shows and content that sort of serve as the pathway to the Olympics for what it’ll take to qualify,” Dyrdek says. “[For SLS], more of less, we saw a need where there was no authentic, professional skateboarding league or tour.”
Another intriguing brand that Dyrdek owns is Ultracast, a 360-degree virtual reality platform for delivering live content.
“It’s still a little bit early, but there’s a real opportunity for immersive experiences,” he says. “It’s all about building out the infrastructure to operationalize the live content version of [Ultracast].”
Alongside his media entities, Dyrdek’s portfolio of consumer product businesses shows more variety. Momentous is a supplement brand that Dyrdek and his partners just developed and launched.
“The premium Ferrari of supplements, if you will,” Dyrdek laughs.
Outstanding Foods, a plant-based snack food company, is another fun consumer product brand, featuring “pigless bacon chips.” Then there’s CCCXXXIII, a luxury accessory line that creates high-margin accessories for a highly-targeted market.
