Stacey Dooley Career
Stacey used to sell perfume during the day at Luton airport and did pub work in the evening. Later she traveled to India because of her passion for the fashion industry.
Her first appearance was as a participant in the television series Blood, Sweat, and T-shirts, in India which addressed the typical fashion-obsessed consumer.
The media personality accepted the offer through Danny Cohen to work for BBC three by making her documentaries. That is how her journey on BBC began in August 2009 as an investigative journalist in the developing world.
Stacey’s media reporting styles
The media personality is known for her confidence in asking simple, heartfelt, and direct questions to the people she is interviewing. She has once asked an Isis fighter who said he had killed 900 people and raped 200 women: “What was going through your mind when these girls were screaming for you to stop and you don’t?”
She is also self-parody – asking for a couple of minutes while she turns away to weep, ranting at the world’s injustices, wrapping her arms around a victim she has just met.
The television presenter published her first book in February 2018. The book is called; Stacey Dooley, On the Front Line with the Women Who Fight Back, and discusses topics such as sex trafficking, sex equality, and domestic violence.
Strictly Come Dancing
The journalist was one of the eight contestants to take part in the 16th series of Strictly Come Dancing. She won the series together with her dance partner Kevin Clifton in 2018. Dooley appeared in Jessie Ware’s music video for “Save a Kiss” and the game show Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel.
Stacey’s boyfriend is Kevin Clifton. The two met when they were partnered in BBC One Show in 2018. Kevin helped the television presenter to win her first Glitterball trophy.
Speculations have it that the two might have started to date after the television presenter broke up with her ex Sam Tucknott in April 2019.
Kevin has been married three times and it seems that although the couple is completely smitten, they are not in a hurry to enter into marriage.
“Kev and I have been together for two years, I don’t think I want to get married. I think I’d be more interested in starting a family than getting married.” Stacey confessed in an episode of Stacey Sleep Overs.
It seems that the television presenter is not ready to become a traditional wife any time soon. “I can’t think of anything worse than being a Tradwife. I would be useless, completely and utterly useless. He’d divorce me in a heartbeat”.
The professional dancer is expecting her first child, in 2023. Kevin shared a photo of Stacey’s baby bump and remarked online, “We’re having a baby! [heart emojis] And I think my girl @sjdooley looks beautiful pregnant.”
