Stephen Laurel “tWitch” Boss

Stephen Laurel is an American choreographer, hip-hop freestyle dancer, television producer, television personality, and actor. Also known as DJ tWitch, Laurel passed away on 13 December 2022 and his death was ruled as a suicide. He is known for his role as a contestant turned judge on the American Television Series So you think you can dance.

DJ tWitch Date of Birth, Childhood, and Education

Born on 29 September 1982 in Montgomery, Alabama, Steven earned his nickname as a child when he couldn’t sit still. He later went to Lee High School and graduated in 2000. Afterward, he attended southern union state community college in Wadley Alabama, and proceeded to Chapman university where he studied dance performance.

DJ tWitch Career

In 2003, Steve was among the semifinalists on MTV’s The Wade Robson Project and a runner-up in the Star Search television talent competition. He choreographed routines for the South Korean singer Choi Dong-Wook and trained other YG entertainment artists. Together with Allison Holker, tWitch performed a dance routine on dancing with the stars and also danced crystalize.

On April 2014, he was as a guest DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and was cast in Magic Mike XXL on October 2014. He later became the co-executive producer of Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime talk show in 2020. He was also a member of the dance troupes “Breed OCLA” and “Chill Factor Crew’’

Stephen who was married to Allison Halker and is a father to three children; Weslie Fowler (14), Zaia Boss (3), and Maddox Laurel Boss (6). Speaking at the Jennifer Hudson Show on 17 November 2022, the couple mentioned their lovely children and Allison admitted that they would love to have more children.

DJ tWitch Death

Stephen was found dead at the Oak in Tree Inn by the motel maid after he was missing for some time. His body was discovered in his bedroom bathroom by the motel maid. It is alleged that there were other guests who were staying at the motel when the star took his own life on 13 December 2022.

The star’s autopsy revealed that he died as a result of a gunshot wound on the head. The manner of his death was labeled as suicide. None of the motel staff heard any gunshot on that fateful day, despite the star dying of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

His wife Allison Holker Boss, also confirmed his death to the People. “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends, and community above all else, and leading with love and the light was everything to him. To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt,” she observed. “I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children”. Allison concluded by sending a message to Steve that he will be missed, and that will always save the last dance for him.
