She joined the station in 2017, and also serves as VP of Multimedia for the Houston Association of Black Journalists and is part of the Missouri Alumni Association.
She previously anchored the weekend morning news, alongside Jeff Ehling and meteorologist Kevin Roth, and in 2022, the team was nominated for an Emmy for their coverage of the Astroworld Fest tragedy.
Prior to joining ABC 13, Erica worked at Action News Jax WJAX-WFOX in Jacksonville, Florida.

Erica is married to her husband TJ Simon, who works as a music and record producer. The couple tied the knot on September 25, 2016 at Ribault Club .
