Braelyn, one of her twin daughter had a heart condition during birth, and she was on ECMO. Her lungs were in very rough shape due to having RSV at just six weeks old, during the ECMO, Braelyn did have a bleed in the right frontal lobe of her brain, and thank God she recovered from all that. She is indeed a warrior.
“The biggest struggles Braelyn has right now as a result of being on ECMO and her heart condition is having significant trouble with self regulation and a speech delay. She most likely has ADHD. She continues to do speech therapy at CP. Her doctor appointments are fewer” Krystn posted on her Facebook page.
ECMO stands for Extracorporeal Mambrane Oxygenation. The ECMO machine is used to pump and oxygenate a patient’s blood outside the body, allowing the heart and lungs to rest.
